Facts about Africa population 2010



Africa is one of the largest continents in the world. This article is all about Africa’s population. Population of Africa has increased rapidly over the last 4 decades. Most of the people in Africa are young(25 years).African population grew rapidly from 221 million in 1950 to 1 billion in 2009.Although it is the second largest continent in the world in size ,Africa's population density is too low in some regions . This is mainly due to the presence of the mighty Sahara Desert - which is the largest desert in the world which occupies one-fourth of Africa's landmass and is not suitable for human living. 


In the Africa continent - countries with good economy have the both birth and death rates are lower. Where as in less developed countries the birth rate is high and also is infant mortality as well as the death rate. Population is a major problem in Africa, it increase more and more compared to the continent.
